The Midwest Shooting Dog Championship was held in Ionia, Mi beginning September 28, 2016. Special thank you to our sponsors Purina and Garmin. We also would like to thank our Judges Joe Cammisa and John Small. The judges had complimentary things to say about the competition. The winner of this years championship was out of brace 8, Ty handled by Chad Chadwell and the runner up was also in brace 8 Guy handled by Brian Gingrich.
1A Buddy handler Jim Winnen
Buddy ran a moderate race and applied himself appropriately throughout the hour. He carded his first find at 16. At 22 he had a non productive. He went on through the hour finding birds with plenty of style at 27, 32 and 53.
1 B Ellie Mae handler Brian Gingrich
Ellie Mae came looking for birds. She ran a moderate course and was picked up at 16 for a breach of manners.
2A BamBam handler Brian Gingrich
BamBam ran a shooting dog race with solid application and continuous movement. She carded 1 find at 59.
2B Remi handler Jaimie Fountain
Remi broke away and went on to have a find at 8. He was picked up for breach of manners.
3A Revi handler Brian Gingrich
Revi disappeared from the breakaway. She had an 18 minute absence. She was found to the front. She backed at 22 and had her finds at 24 and 59.
3B Boss handler Jaimie Fountain
Boss hunted at a moderate pace and applied himself well. He had a find at 14, 20 and 22. He went on to back at 26. he finished the hour.
4A Ginger handler Brian Gingrich
Ginger broke away strong and to the front but had a breach of manners at 5.
4B Mar Mar handler Jaimie Fountain
Mar Mar also broke away heading to the front and had a breach of manners at 5.
5A Sitka handler Brian Gingrich
Sitka hunted with moderate range and good application he had a find non productive at 26 and a stop to bump at 38. He was picked up for breach of manners.
5B Rocco handler Jaimie Fountain
Rocco hunted to the front but was picked up for a breach of manners at 16.
6A Mia handler Chad Chadwell
Mia hunted at a moderate pace displaying good application throughout the hour. She had finds at 22, 32 a non productive at 37 and a find at 50.
6B Kayla handler Brian Gingrich
Kayla broke away heading to the front showing good application but had a breach of manners at 8.
7A Taza handler Brian Gingrich
Taza hunted the terrain well, staying forward. He had a find at 15 and 20. Handler picked up.
8A Guy handler Brian Gingrich
Guy broke away to the front with a 12 minute absence. He was found up front displaying solid application. He carded his first find at 15, a divided find at 21, a non productive at 27, a divided find at 47 and his final find at 55. He and his bracemate really complimented one another and Guy was named Runner Up.
8B Tai handler Chad Chadwell
Tai had a 10 minute absence and was also found to the front. he moved boldly while stopping to point birds with style. His first find was at 12, back at 15, a divided find at 21, divided find at 47, a back at 55 where the handler elected to move on. Tai had a strong finish and was consistent throughout the hour and was named the winner.
9A Scout handler Brian Gingrich
Scout hunted to the front with moderate range. He had a breach of manners at 22.
9B Jones handler Carrie Syczylo
Jones hunted with moderate range and had a find at 22. She was picked up for a breach of manners.
10 A Bella handler Carrie Syczylo
Bella broke away to the front and covered the course with range and style. She had finds at 17, 27,33 and a non productive at 40 and a divided find at 49.
10B Driver handler Brian Gingrich
Driver also hunted in a forward, stylish fashion and had finds at 20, a non productive at 24, find 28, a divided find at 49 and a find at 52.
11A Red handler Brian Gingrich
Red hunted in a forward fashion and had a find at 25 and was picked up at 56 for a breach of manners.
11B SureWin handler Carrie Syczylo
SureWin also hunted in a forward fashion but was picked up for a breech of manners at 30.
12A Blue handler Robert Tomczak
Blue hunted the terrain well. He carded finds at 10, 28, 34 and 52.
Katy handler Carrie Syczylo
Handler picked up at 25.
13 A Hootie handler Carrie Syczylo
Hootie broke away in a forward fashion with solid application throughout the hour. He was rewarded with finds at 4, 15, 25, 30 and 57.
13 B Bishop handler Robert Tomczak
Bishop ran a forward race with moderate range and good application. He a non productive at 27 and a find 58.
